Ahoy!
We're finally through the holiday season and itching to get back into the full swing of things. Here's a status report and other exciting updates from the last month.
Status Report
Roll20 Progress
One of the big projects since the Kickstarter wrapped was getting our three previous adventures ready to go on the VTT platforms. Foundry was already complete, but Roll20 and Alchemy still needed sorted.
This week, we're rolling out the Roll20 VTT versions of Buried in the Bahamas, The Battle of Dead Man's Cove, and The Sinking of C'Thagn!
Just because of how activating products on that platform works, you might see the adventures pop up on the Roll20 Marketplace a few hours before you receive your copies, but we promise they're on the way! We expect these to be emailed to you this week.
Writing Progress
Work continues on both Down Among the Dead and Trapped in the Tropics. Significant progress has been made on the Into the Maelstrom adventure, meaning that we're closing in on closing out on Down Among the Dead! We're still targeting a March release for the digital version.
Manufacturing Progress
All quotes have been approved and all initial payments have been made to the manufacturers.
Design files have been sent to the manufacturer for the coins, dice, patches, mega-maps, water mats, and cloth bags. Cut lines for some of the other products have also been sent in so we can get samples. The manufacturer is targeting this month for the completion of all these prototypes.
DriveThru RPG Delivery
We also started rolling out digital content on DriveThru RPG this month. The digital version of the reference cards and previous three adventures were kicked out to backers who had completed their survey.
If you completed your survey, you would have received an email from DriveThruRPG last week. If you can't find it, check your Spam and Promotions folders, and then feel free to reach out via the form listed below.
Backerkit Surveys
Just under 90% of you have completed the surveys over on Backerkit. Please note: there is no rush on completing the survey (but you will need to finish it to get any digital rewards). We don't plan on closing the survey for at least another 4-5 months.
We're currently delivering digital files for the core book and the previously released adventures, plus a few other digital products. If any of that is part of your pledge, you'll receive those PDFs on Backerkit within a few days of completing your survey.
New items like Down Among the Dead, The Starter Set, and Cabin Fever, are not delivering yet.
For last month's Patreon release, I created a spelunking, exploration-heavy adventure called The Cavern of Cursed Tears. It's got a handful of new creatures and a story that's perfect for a couple sessions. The PDF is already on the webstore, and the print version will hopefully be up in a few weeks.

Gary Con | March 20-23 Considered the Mecca of TTRPG conventions, GaryCon takes place in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin — the birthplace of D&D! Badges are already available and events become available to Silver badge holders on Feb. 22nd.

BackerKit Opened! Pledge Manager FAQs!

It's been a busy few weeks since the Kickstarted finished! I've been working on Into the Maelstrom and listening to feedback from our discord play testers. I'm really excited about some of the new mechanics and the expanded campaign. Zac is working hard on the manufacturing details, and Backerkit, which is now open! (see below)
We've got NEW TREASURE to share! The Mesoan and Deep One coins were unlocked later in the campaign and are exclusive, meaning they will be a limited run and we won't be remaking them. Admirals and Kraken tiers get these for free, but you can add them to any pledge as well.
BackerKit (and Pre-Order Store) Open!
BackerKit is open! If you backed the Kickstarter, please check the inbox of the email address tied to your Kickstarter account for an invite. If you don't see one right away, check your spam/promotion/trash folders, then give it a few hours before you reach out to us. With as many of you as there are, BackerKit might be sending out the invites in waves.
In case any of you who backed early missed some of the unlocked add-ons, here are the items you should definitely make sure and check out in BackerKit:
Exclusive Coins: The two above, plus the initial Charon's Obol. Limited runs.
Player's Guidebook (Hardcover): The softcover of this comes standard in the Starter Set, but we're also doing a separate hardcover.
Dark Tides: This zine was only available in the Kraken tier or as an add-on, so some of you may have missed it. It's a 'wave-crawl" micro solo RPG and has been out of stock in our webstore for quite a while.
Note On Shipping
No shipping prices have changed, but we're also not ready to charge for shipping this far in advance. This means that if you complete your survey right now, you won't be immediately charged for shipping; instead, you'll select your add-ons, confirm your address, and give us your card info, but you won't be charged until much closer to the ship date in 2025.
You will get updates both on here and emailed to you from BackerKit several days before we charge cards for shipping.
A note on Canada: Good news! We've been in chats with a Canadian fulfillment partner and we're very hopeful that we'll be able to lock in an arrangement with them, which should save any of our northern neighbors some cash. This has not been finalized yet, but we'll let you know if and when it happens.

Missing Invite?
If you haven't received an emailed invite to the BackerKit in the next few days, shoot us an email and we'll get you taken care of. Here are the steps we'd ask you to work through: 1. Confirm what email is connected to your Kickstarter profile and check its Promotion and Spam folders. 2. If it's not December 6th, hold tight. If it is, check back here and make sure there hasn't been an update. 3. Email us at [email protected]. Provide your Backer # and email address and we'll get you sorted.
Missing Early-Bird Rewards?
If you hop into BackerKit and see that Early-Bird or V.I.P. items are missing from your rewards, please follow these steps to get them corrected. 1. Confirm what rewards you should be getting. - Backed at any level in the first 48 hours: Port Generator PDF - Backed at any physical level in the first 48 hours: Port Generator PDF + "Lost Soul" Patch - Paid the $1 pre-campaign to become a V.I.P.: d2 Charon's Obol 2. Fill out this form: https://forms.gle/yS8RTGvWTHfZRM4LA 3. Give us 2-3 weeks to get them added. Especially at the beginning, we may have quite a few folks to help, but we promise we'll get to you asap. Check back into BackerKit to see if your items are added back in.
Payment (or other) Issues?
Stripe/Paypal: At the beginning, only Stripe payments are allowed. That's a BackerKit thing and something outside of our control. PayPal will be added in 2025 a few months before shipping, so you'll have plenty of time if you want to wait for that option. If your payment is getting declined, there's nothing we can do on our end about that, so we'd suggest reaching out to your bank and BackerKit directly.
Change of Address: We won't be locking your address for several months, so feel free to jump back in and make whatever changes you need there. We probably won't be locking that down till the Spring or Summer, depending on when shipping begins.

Ahoy there!
First: THANK YOU! I really can't believe how well this campaign did. You all are the most amazing, filth-ridden, grimy, salt-stained, barnacle-encrusted pirates I ever did meet.
We were about $4k short of our final stretch goal, but we're going to go ahead and assume we'll cross that once we turn on Backerkit — so consider the $625k Cabin Fever Endpapers goal UNLOCKED!
What's Next?
You can of course read every update on here, but if you want to stay in the thick of things, we'd love to have you in the Discord! We've got a really strong community over there talking and playing PIRATE BORG on a daily basis.
If Discord isn't your jam, we've also got a Facebook Group.
October-November We've received the funds from Kickstarter and are preparing Backerkit. I'm also designing the art for the two new coins, so you all an decided whether or not you want to add them to your rewards. (Some tiers will get them for free). Expect Backerkit to open up in a few weeks.
Our goal is to be able to deliver an initial wave of digital products by the end of November. This wave will include the PDFs of all existing books (Pirate Borg core, Buried in the Bahamas, Dead Man's Cove, and The Sinking of C'thagn), plus most of the VTT versions for these items as well. We'll be delivering digital content through Backerkit AND DriveThruRPG. Almost certainly, Wave 1 PDF and VTT delivery will happen in November.
Problems with Your Order?
For any issues other than declined payment, please reach out to [email protected].
Payment Issues? If you're still having issues, you'll be able to work through them on BackerKit without penalty. There's nothing Limithron can do to sort out your payment issue, but we definitely understand that these things happen. If you have any follow-up questions, please reach out to us.
Wrong Email? If your Kickstarter email isn't the one you want to use for the survey/Backerkit, that's perfectly fine, but you will need to reach out to us. Send us an email to the above address and list your Backer Number, name, and the new email address you want us to use.
Need to Change Your Pledge? Maybe you want to upgrade to a better bundle? Or perhaps you just lost your job and you need to downgrade? Some of these options will be completely on the table in Backerkit and won't require you reaching out to us (just modify your order at that point); however, if something comes up and you don't see a natural way of handling it, please email us with your request and we'll do our best to take care of you.
Thought You Pledged, but Didn't? That's okay! We'll be taking pre-orders through Backerkit in just a few weeks. Everything sold through the campaign will also be available in Backerkit.
Moving Soon? Don't worry about it. We're months and months away from locking your address. The Backerkit might ask for your address in the coming weeks, but you can always go back in and change that. We'll only start locking addresses down a handful of weeks before delivery.

Ahoy sailors and scallywags!
It be the final week of the campaign and ye've managed to secure another precious coin for the coffers. The Limithron crew will be heading to Gamehole Con Wednesday through Sunday of this week, so this may be the last big update before we close everything out.
To that end, we've got stretch goals to discuss, and we've added a couple new Add-On items! If you've already pledged, snagging these new add-ons during the campaign is the best way for you to help us crest over these last few goals. These items are Kickstarter-exclusive, meaning they won't be widely available after the campaign ends, though you will be able to pick them up in Backerkit.
ANTIQUARIAN CLASS 5K BACKER STRETCH GOAL
We're in the home stretch, and the huge 5,000 backer benchmark is within reach, so I had an idea: a new class as backer count stretch goal! This class will be inspired by Dr. Jones, the Antiquarian class from Darkest Dungeon, and all the relic and treasure seeking pirates out there!

Two new stretch goals have been revealed. These will be the last goals for the campaign!
$600k: The first is a double-sided treasure map added to the Starter Set! Every good pirate story should feature a treasure map at some point or another, and it wouldn't quite feel like a full experience without one. This will be an A4-size print or larger, depending on final design.
$625k: The last stretch goal culminates with a content expansion for Cabin Fever! We'll be bringing back two of the winning designers to create new content that will be printed on the endpapers in much the same way as in the core book (see image below). We've already set things up, and are delighted to have the opportunity to potentially work with JVC Parry and M. Allen Hall again! Both creators are already featured in the book, and JVC was the writer of The Sinking of C'Thagn zine.
NEW ADD-ONS
Mesoan & Deep One Obols
We don't have artwork yet for these add-ons, but you've unlocked both the Mesoan Obol and the Deep One Obol through stretch goals, so we've added them to the Add-On section as well. These are Kickstarter-exclusive—meaning they won't be widely released afterward and we won't be doing a second minting. We completely understand if you want to hold off on purchasing until you see the design; however, snagging them now pushes us toward the goals listed above!
Folks at the Admiral and Kraken Tiers get these coins for free as part of their pledge. The add-on price is $10 each, just like Charon's Obol.
LAST CALL FOR SINK!

2024 Timeline
Here's what you can expect in the coming weeks: October 18th: Kickstarter Ends, cards are charged. If your card is declined, you will get an email from Kickstarter. November 1st: Kickstarter sends us the money. We'll get it by around the 5th. Mid-Late November: The Backerkit opens, beginning with a Smoke Test that goes out to some of you. Late November: Providing there are no issues with the Smoke Test, we open up the Backerkit for everyone. Here's what you'll be able to do in Backerkit: - Purchase add-ons. - Confirm your shipping information. - Download digital files of existing products. BackerKit will stay open for at least 4 months (through March '25). As we complete other digital products, you'll get notified via email and be able to download them on Backerkit. Early December: DriveThruRPG codes for existing products will go out. This will give you a second way of accessing and organizing your digital files. You will get an email for these as well. Late December: Beta version PDFs of Down Among the Dead, Cabin Fever, and Starter Set are released.
From there, we'll keep you informed with additional updates in 2025.
